With th increasing number of interssting web-sites it becomes an ever increasing nuissance to keep up to date; to daily check all the sites out only to realise nothing has changed. webCheck does that for you:

From a property file urls are read for checking
For each url the date of the last change or a hash-value is saved
On later calls these dates are compared with the current state of the site.

This tool is implemented wis Java 5.0

For this application to work you will need the Java Runtime 1.5 (from Sun).

JavaDoc is partialiy in german.

Open Tasks:

• Better handling of URLs that could not be found for watever reason (Redirection)
• When the URLs are read from the property file the URLs in the XML-file have to be removed
• Adding of a graphic user interface
• Flexible use of input and output filenames
